Tamia Coston, Masters Intern

I am Tamia Coston, a Master of Social Work intern at Lighthouse Counseling Christian Ministry and a graduate student in Baylor University’s online MSW program. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Salisbury University in 2022.
Before beginning my internship at Lighthouse, I worked as a supports planner, assisting individuals and families with navigating services, advocacy, and developing person-centered plans to support daily living and overall well-being. As a mother, sister, and friend, I value authentic connection in the therapeutic space. I have experience working with individuals and families using a person-centered approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life transitions and emotional challenges, and I strive to create a calm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel heard and encouraged.
